Mary Ruth Burton
President
Mary Ruth Burton has thirty years of experience in organizational development and human resources. Her industry experience includes working with information systems, mortgage, financial, insurance, distribution, manufacturing, sports management, education, engineering, health care, and government organizations.
Formerly vice president of human resources for a national information systems company, she is experienced in all phases of human resource management and training. Her areas of expertise include training and facilitation; executive coaching; group development; managing organizational change; work re-design and appropriate compensation planning; career path development; and career counseling. She has designed both technical and non-technical training programs including a programmer training school.
Mary Ruth earned her BA from Mary Washington College and pursued graduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has studied organizational development at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She served as an adjunct faculty member of The University of Richmond’s Management Institute for over ten years. She has been a certified Birkman Method Consultant for nineteen years.
Mary Ruth currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for Corporate Growth in Richmond, VA. She is also on the Virginia Commonwealth University’s Ram Athletic Fund Board of Directors and on the Human Resources Committee of the Richmond Symphony Board. She has served four years on the Board of the Peter Paul Development Center which provides services to children at-risk in Richmond’s east end.
